About Artist Ramesh Date graduated in Commercial Art from J.J. School of Art in 1977. His love for photography and natural surroundings combined with his penchant for accepting and doing only work that appealed to his sense, turned him away from the safe, proven option of employment.

For past twenty years now, Ramesh has been obsessed with the form of art-experimenting, improvising and innovating with various mediums like coconut , bamboo etc..

His intricately detailed and exquisitely proportioned range of bamboo vintage cars was one of the outstanding creations he crafted during this time.

Now Ramesh Date has created an entire collection of Ganeshas, out of coconut shells, in varying sizes and shapes. The beauty of it is that he hasn't messed with nature; but has retained the natural colours and textures of coconut shell while doing so. Incidently, Ramesh has created the Ganesha collection single – handedly without the help of any machines and using only basic tools.
